Ayre Faceted Rice Paper Column Floor Lamp

A tall column of crumpled, faceted rice paper standing on thin wire legs — lit, every crease catches the light differently, and the whole thing glows like a paper lantern that has been folded rather than blown up.

Key Features

• Faceted Paper Column: The shade is a tall vertical form of rice paper folded into irregular planes. No two facets sit at the same angle.
• Glows All Over: The light source sits inside, so the entire column is lit. The creases read as soft lines of shadow across the surface.
• Thin Wire Legs: The column is lifted just off the floor on slender metal legs, so it seems to hover rather than sit.
• Tall: This is a full-height floor lamp with presence. It is a piece to give a corner to.
• One Version: White paper, one size, one price.

Why You'll Love It

• It is the lamp people photograph when they come over.
• The creases mean it never looks flat, even in daylight.
• Off, it is a paper sculpture; on, it is the softest light in the house.
• Rice paper does not love damp — keep it out of the bathroom and away from the kettle.
• Give it its own corner; it does not share well.
