Rook Wire Nest Semi-Flush Ceiling Light

A dome of tangled aluminium wire sitting close to the ceiling — at night it throws a speckled shadow across the whole ceiling, which is really the point of it.

Key Features

• Wire Nest Dome: Fine aluminium wire wound into a loose, irregular dome that sits over the bulb. No two lines of it run parallel.
• Semi-Flush, Not a Pendant: A short chrome canopy holds the dome tight to the ceiling. It suits a low ceiling or a hallway where a hanging light would be in the way.
• The Shadow Is the Feature: Light passes through the gaps in the wire and prints the tangle onto the ceiling and upper walls.
• Nine Colours: Pink, purple, blue, green, white, gold, silver, red and black, all at the same price.
• Light in Weight, Light on the Eye: Because it is mostly air, it does not crowd a small room the way a solid shade would.

Why You'll Love It

• Turn it on at night and look up — the ceiling turns into a drawing.
• Sits close enough to the ceiling that nobody tall will meet it in the hallway.
• The gold and silver versions read as metal in daylight; the coloured ones are properly coloured.
• It is a wire nest, so give it a gentle dust rather than a wipe.
• Check the bulb it takes before you order a spare.
